Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation
The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation will focus on giving aid to the military community and military support groups both locally and nationally. We will also aid and support community needs as they arise.
The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation is formed in honor of our son Kyle who served as a United States Marine. As Cpl. Schneider devoted and sacrificed for his Country and community, we will continue his legacy by giving back to veterans and their families, angel families and wounded warriors along with other military support groups. We will also aid and support the community needs as they arise.
We the parents and family of Kyle, our beloved hero, began his Foundation in his memory and to honor his legacy. He lived by Honor, Courage and Committment, the Marine Corps Motto. The Holy Bible verses from Ephesians 6: 10-18, were very important and meaningful to Kyle. As parents of a fallen Marine, we cannot explain where this internal flame begins to honor, serve and protect. We do know it starts at a very young age. One does not set about to raise a Marine, only to guide a child to a productive adulthood and be a decent citizen. Reflecting upon Kyle’s life, we believe now that Kyle was destined for it, it is a flame that begins within so early that parents are not aware. Kyle, a special individual, knew though, and showed small signs of what he was destined to do.
Kyle, showed signs of his dedication and deep conviction of family and freedom throughout his life. Though nothing would have prepared us for his ultimate sacrifice. Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider was born on January, 8th, 1988 in upstate New York. He is a 2006 graduate of C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY, where he played baseball, football and ran track. Kyle loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Kyle attended Onondaga Community College in the Criminal Justice Program. In March 2008 he joined the United States Marine Corps and graduated from Marine Corp Recruit Training at Parris Island, SC, June, 2008. While at Parris Island Kyle was screened and accepted into Presidential Support Duty at Marine Barracks, 8th & I. After graduating recruit training he attended the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, NC and earned the Military Occupational Skill of 0311, Infantryman. Kyle then reported to Marine Corps Security Force School in Chesapeake, VA. Upon his graduation from Security Force School he reported to 8th & I, where he served well until May, 2010. In May 2010 he volunteered for and was transferred to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 3rd Platoon. Among the various initiatives and volunteer opportunities, the Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation offers:
- Care packages to service members in combat zones:
The Foundation works to deliver care packages to our Service Members in combat zones. Through activities like our 5k run, together with generous donations of items, boxes are sent to our service members. The foundation also helps support Syracuse Marine Parents in our care package efforts.
- Assisting in providing Service dogs to military heroes:
Your monetary donations go to develop and provide service, therapy, and guide dogs for our returned Heroes operated by a local foundation. Heroes recieve much more than a companion, they find hope and healing through the unconditional love of man's best friend. The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation endorses programs like Clear Path for Veterans.
- CARING HANDS PROGRAM
The Corporal Kyle R. Schneider Foundation operates a local Caring Hands Program. We deliver to or arrange pickup of items for recipients. We also have a liaison and program annex through Fort Drum New York. Since many of our Military may move frequently through deployment or have belongings in storage at distant locales, there is a significant need for these things. Email us to let us know how you wish to help.
- Prayer shawl ministries to survivors:
We are honored to say this is another one of our very meaningful extensions of The Foundation. Volunteers from all over with knitting, crocheting, and quilt making skills give of their time to make prayer shawls and quilts to give to families of the fallen. By doing so volunteers realize a real and tangible sense of caring, comfort, and giving to families suffering that devastating, life altering news. We can say first hand what a meaningful, comforting ministry this is, given by people whom we may or may not know near or far. If you don't have the materials it is not a problem. Our Congregation offers a yarn and quilt patch exchange and donation opportunity. Perhaps your Church or one near you also provides a similar opportunnity.
- Annual scholarships to graduating High School seniors:
Our Foundation seeks donations to support these worthy scholarships through the Baldwinsville Central School District.
